Professional Postpartum Doula Support

Congratulations on your new arrival!

The days and weeks following the birth of a baby are a very important time of transition for families, whether the first child or the sixth child. Research shows that families with a postpartum team in place have an easier time with this transition. A Professional Postpartum Doula is the perfect addition to your postpartum support team!

What is a Professional Postpartum Doula?

A Professional Postpartum Doula is a trained professional that provides personalized care for families with a newborn. The postpartum doula understands that new and experienced parents need time and support to adjust to this new season for their family. She provides a listening ear and personalized, practical help to make this transition period seem less overwhelming. She will support your parenting choices and offer information from evidence-based research rather than personal opinion.

What Can a Professional Postpartum Doula do for you?

At the beginning of each shift the Professional Postpartum Doula will check in and collaborate  with the mother on the needs and goals for the day. Postpartum support from a postpartum doula can include:

  • Physical and emotional recovery from childbirth (non-medical care)
  • Non-judgmental companionship and support
  • Infant feeding support
  • Newborn care and development
  • Infant sleep resources
  • Infant soothing skills
  • Bonding and Attachment coping skills
  • Family adjustment
  • Sibling support
  • Assistance with pet adjustment
  • Connection to community resources
  • Babywearing techniques
  • If time permits, household organization, light housework, meal planning and meal preparation.

How much Postpartum Doula Support should I invest in?

The needs of each family are unique and our packages are personalized accordingly. The Professional Postpartum Doula will come to your home in the days and weeks following the arrival of your newborn. The sooner the better!

Support is generally provided 2-5 days a week, for 3-5 hours per day (minimum of 3 hours). See some of our sample packages below for some examples on how you can schedule your time.  Schedule a consult today to see how we can meet the needs of your family.
